Art, to me is much more than just something that looks cool, or makes the walls look pretty. Art is a way of expressing ideas, theories and emotions, the idea need not be original (plagiarism is something else entirely) it just needs to be something the artist believes in, or just another way for the artist of telling a story creatively. I have a friend who thinks that there is no point in an artist expressing an idea that has been expressed before, that it is "un-original", well to that i say art serves as a time capsule for the coming generations, for them to see what the world was like at the time, from a first-hand source rather than an encyclopedia.

Well, I just wanted my first blog to clarify what art means to me, and i would love to see what art is to others or what others think of my thoughts on the matter.
